Clear the board
one pair at a time.
Creative Mahjong is a single-player tile-matching game. You remove open pairs, which frees the tiles beneath and beside them, and you keep going until the board is empty.
We kept the rules people already know and built on them: a second mode called 4 Up, four illustrated decks, and seven challenges that arrive as you progress. You can undo and shuffle as often as you like, or play for a win streak.

Two modes,
one rule for open tiles.
Classic is the game you know.
4 Up adds a tray that holds four tiles.
Match open pairs.
Select two open tiles with the same face to remove them. Clear every tile to win.
- 01Look for open tiles.
A tile is open when nothing sits on top of it and its left or right side is free.
- 02Match identical faces.
Both tiles must be open to make a pair.
- 03Plan a move or two ahead.
Every pair you remove frees other tiles, so the order you take them in matters.
Collect tiles in a tray.
The open-tile rule is the same, but you pick up one tile at a time instead of selecting a pair.
- 01Collect an open tile.
It moves into your tray, which holds four tiles.
- 02Make room with a match.
Two matching tiles in the tray clear automatically.
- 03Don’t fill the tray.
A full tray ends a Streak round. In Relaxed, you can undo and try again.

A new challenge arrives every so often between round 1 and round 73. Each one starts with a smaller teaching round, so you can see how it works first.
ROUND 01Open Table
The standard rules.
Find open pairs and work down through the layers. Nothing else changes yet.
ROUND 09Memory
Play from memory.
Peek at playable tiles, remember their faces, and find a match before you forget them.
ROUND 17Covered
Some faces start hidden.
Remove the tiles above a cover to reveal the face underneath.
ROUND 29Shifting Sections
Rows that move.
After each match, an outlined row slides one place. Watch the arrow and plan your next move.
ROUND 41Collapse
Gaps close up.
Stacks slide inward to close empty lanes after each match. New neighbors change which sides are free.
ROUND 57Locks & Keys
Keys open numbered locks.
Match tiles bearing a key to open locks with the same number. The locked faces stay visible.
ROUND 73Tempest
A redeal after every match.
After every match, the remaining tiles gather and redeal. In 4 Up, your tray stays put.

What is Creative Mahjong?
Creative Mahjong is a single-player Mahjong solitaire game for iPhone and iPad. You match open tiles in pairs until the board is clear. There are two modes, Classic and 4 Up, and two play styles, Relaxed and Streak.
How do I know which tiles are playable?
A tile is open when nothing sits on top of it and its left or right side is free. In Classic, select two open tiles with identical faces to remove the pair. In 4 Up, collect open tiles into the tray; matching pairs clear automatically.
Can I play offline, without an account?
Yes. Unlimited play works offline and does not require an account. Optional online features let eligible players connect and share their results.
Are there ads, subscriptions, or energy timers?
No. Creative Mahjong has no ads, subscriptions, or energy systems. You can play as much as you like.
Which devices can I play on?
Creative Mahjong is built for iPhone and iPad running iOS 17 or later. The iPhone experience is portrait; iPad supports portrait and landscape.
When can I download it?
Not yet. Creative Mahjong is coming to iPhone and iPad, and the download link will appear on this page when it’s available.
